Once Upon A Time...(5 days ago, aka my birthday)
I just finished a very long and tiring day, all i wanted to do was go to sleep. BUT sadly that didnt happen for a little while. I had just laid down, my eye lids burning from the lack of sleep, when my phone buzzed, sending me into a state of fright. i sat up unwillingly, grabbing my phone. I looked at who was calling & didnt answer for two reasons...
1: i hate talking on the phone late at night
2: if it was really important they would call back
I ignored the phone call & resumed my position in my bed, within 30 seconds my phone goes off again. This time i answer.
".....hello?"
"can i come borrow your calculus book??"
*laugher in background*
"uh..sure."
"Okay i'll be there in 2 seconds!!"
I grabbed my calculus book, & sat outside on my front porch waiting for my friend to come get it.
As im sitting there enjoying the night air & the millions of stars above,
i see off in the distance three figures walking towards my house, i watch them walk all the way up to my neighbors tree when they stop dead in their tracks.
Two of them start backing away slowly,
(as if i cant see them already.)
while the other one come skipping up to my house, my friend that "needs to borrow my calculus book".
she attempts to act like nothing is going on, but i saw right through her little act...(she couldnt stop laughing & smiling so it was a dead give away)
She came up & told me she wanted to come into my house & see my room that she has seen a million times.
We stayed in my room for maybe 3-4 minutes when my doorbell rings.
a HUGE smile stretches across her face, dominating all other facial features.
I make the journey to my front door, each step making me wonder if i really want to answer the door or not...what is waiting for me?
If there is anything...
I peek my head through the window to see what fate awaits me...
To my surprise i saw...a child.
No.
A BABY!!
a legit BABY!!!
i slowly open the door, looking down at the adorable infant wrapped up in blankets & placed inside a basket.
(Note: this baby did not smile or blink the whole time i was looking at him. it was kinda creepy)
After admiring the little fella for a good 3 minutes, i noticed a sealed envolope addressed to me...
I opened it without hesitation.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!"
oh great...this person just gave me a baby...for my birthday.
I opened the card & read:
"Bailey-Don't be a BABY, come to homecoming with me!"
Phew.
I start to search for where the name of this mystery man's name might be.
i see next to the baby is a container of baby food...
crud.
i pick it up.
an overwhelming stench of chicken & somethin' nasty finds a home in my nostrils.
I took a deep breath through my mouth, filling my lungs & plunged my hand into the grainy substance.
i felt around trying to find anything that might be useful,
i feel a piece of fabric & pull it out.
"A"
wow. that was helpful...
after i retrieved all the letters i started to arrange them into a familiar name...
when i was almost done, a man i had never seen before runs up my walk-way & says,
"um...this is my child."
He picks up the baby & runs away.
It was EXTREMELY funny!
A fit of laughter filled the air between my friend & I.
I resumed my place in figuring out the jumbled letters in front of me.
After about 2ish minutes
i had it!!
i stood up, & patted myself on the back for a job well-done.
So...
Ladies & Gents,
THIS GIRL....IS GOING TO HOMECOMING!!! :)
